Customer service, is considered to be one of the most important core value of any business, as that can be detrimental to the business if it is not very good.
There are many different ways and mediums in which customer service is delivered, it can be via a phone conversation, actual and face to face interaction, or any form as to which you are facing a customer.
With different mediums where the customer service is provided, there are also different strategies on how it can be delivered or given to the customers where there are even more learnings, training, workshops, and even courses for it just to enhance and sharpen such skill to the employees. However, it would be best that you go over about the basics of customer service so that you will have the foundation of its importance and know how it can be effective for your company and your relation to your customers.
It can be said that customer service can have plenty of means to be expressed but the most essential one among these is expressed through respect to the customers, as this can give the customer the feeling that their opinion, needs, requests, and presence is acknowledged, appreciated and valued no matter who they are and how small their need is.
Then understanding the customer in their needs, wants, complaints, and everything else will make them know that their concerns are being looked after. Listening is another form of good customer service, making this go hand in hand with understanding all by letting the customer talk, express, and vent out if necessary, and empathizing with them by showing you are with them in the situation and are willing to help.
Customers can feel how they are being treated by looking at you or sensing the tone of your voice, therefore make sure that either in good or bad conversation always maintain politeness in the way you respond, maintaining proper posture and neutral expression, as this will tell them that you are a controlled person and you are not swayed, thus will they also show respect to you.
Commit to the service that you promise to give and render, and you can even go the extra mile if need be, be helpful even in a helpless situation to encourage the customer to understand that something can always be done. There are many ways available to learn customer service, in any way you can, and when that is mastered you can be assured that your customers will not be adamant to give you that 5 star rating in your services.
Remember, poor customer service takes your customer away, but good customer service invites them in and can make them patronize your service.
